CARITAS is the largest provider of homeless services in the Metro Richmond area. http://caritasva.org/

In 2015, St. Luke’s will renew its participation in CARITAS, Congregations Around Richmond Involved to Assure Shelter. We, in turn with other local congregations, open our church building to those who are homeless in Richmond, so they will have a safe, warm, comfortable place to sleep for a week of nights.

Our ministry of hospitality to our guests includes food, and the offering of a mini-vacation Bible School to the children who will join us for the week.

St. Luke’s undertook a $160,000 renovation to our building, connecting it to county sewer, just so this mission work would be possible for us again.

Through the CARITAS program, we are preparing to welcome women and children in August.
